Loaned to USAF in 1958 as C-118A 51-17647. Returned to USN 1964. Converted to R6D-1Z and redesignated VC-118B in 1962. Retired to MASDC from VR-46 based at NAS Atlanta, Georgia. Aircraft was named “Nancy” in honour of the wife of Rear Admiral Clinton Taylor, the Commander of South Atlantic Forces. To MASDC as 8C0043 Feb 21, 1985. Sold Nov 14, 1988 to Western International Aviation, Tucscon, AZ who sold it to American Air Freight Co and registered Jan 1990 as N21780. Re-registered N1597F Mar 1990. Bought by Allcair Air Transport Feb 1993. Destroyed when missed runway on landing at Patriot Hill, Antarctica Nov 26, 1993.
