This sixth pre-production F-16A acted as one of the Full-Scale Development airframes from 1978 onwards before being modified in 1982 when it was fitted with ventral canard control surfaces and served as a Control Configured Vehicle (CCV) in the Advanced Fighter Technology Integration (AFTI) program. It also participated in the Digital Flight Control System (DFCS) project. Later, it tested the Automated Manoeuvring Attack System and several other technology development projects before being retired to the National Museum of the USAF in January 2001. |
