I flew this aircraft on floats in 1973 out of Ilford, Manitoba. It belonged to Moosenose Lake Airways. The owner was Norman Rondeau. Norm gave me my start in aviation. The Norseman was my first commercial airplane I flew. It was used to haul fish from the outlying Indian communities and their fish camps to the Ilford Fish Co-op. I made five dollars a day and five cents a mile in those days. the other pilots and I lived in a trailer in town. We were allowed to obtain food from Norm's grocery store in town.We were allowed to eat as much moose meat as we liked. Those were the halcyon days of bushflying for me. It was the time when i developed my survival instincts in aviation. they served me well for all of my career. and I am still at it!
