Hi-jacked by pro Castro rebels during a flight from Miami, USA to Varadero, Northern Cuba on November 1st 1958. The aircraft ran out of fuel on approach to Preston and crashed into the sea at Nipe Bay, Cuba. All 4 crew and 13 of 16 passengers were killed. This was the first recorded hi-jack resulting in the death of passengers and crew.
