This, the sixth Comet, was used to test the Rolls Royce Avon RA9 Mk502 engines and was dubbed the 2X. It was withdrawn from use by De Havillands in 1954 but later, in 1959 went on to become an instructional airframe at RAF Halton, with the pseudo registration 7610M. It was finally broken up in 1967. |
