On January 7th 1960, after touchdown in fog at Heathrow Airport, London, at the end of a flight from Dublin, the nose gear failed on landing, the aircraft skidded down the runway and the nose caught fire with subsequent destruction of most of the aircraft. The airframe was broken-up for scrap.
