Originally built as Lockheed/Vega B-17G-105-VE serial 44-85784, later converted to EB-17G and to ETB-17G. Sold to Institut Geographique National of France as F-BGSR, later sold to USA as N17TE and then to Britain as G-BEDF. Presently flies by B-17 Preservation Ltd of Duxford in marking of legendary B-17F-10-BO "Memphis Belle" 41-24485, which was first B-17 to complete 25 combat missions over Europe, operated by 324th BS / 91st Bombardment Group (Heavy) from RAF Bassingbourn. |
