This scarlet-painted Hunter F.4 operated by Jet Heritage of Bournemouth crashed near Dunsfold, Surrey on June 5, 1998, tragically killing the pilot. The aircraft retired from active Royal Air Force service in July 1958 and served as an instructional airframe at Loughborough Technical College until 1989. It was the only fully-restored Hunter F.4 in the United Kingdom and first flew as G-HHUN at Bournemouth on January 21, 1994. |
