I owned this aircraft from 1988 to 1992, and kept it tied down at Wickenheiser airport in Carlton Michigan. I upgraded the Narco 8A radio to a King KX-170B with a King KI-108 CDI and a KT-76 transponder. I remember that this airplane flew beautifully, having an awesome rate of climb and great visibility. The engine would fire up immediately with just 2-3 pumps on the primer . I used to get alot of compliments on this airplane from both my IA and other pilots/passengers. It was a joy to fly.

My father bought this plane wrecked in about 1960. It had a colapsed left strut, minor skin damage on the bottom and a curled prop. He repaired most of it at McKinley airport (no longer in exsistance) in Fraser, Michigan. "Doc" McKinley said he remembered the plane having floats on it.
