My Great-Grandpa helped Al Meyers build the first OTW.
Then about a year ago I got a ride in one OTW.

This plane was also partially owned by Bob Brodeur.

I was able to dig up some more info on this plane on the following website:
http://www.aviation-history.com/meyers/otw.html
Apparently this was the only OTW that was fitted with a 125HP Ken Royce engine at the factory.
When my father and his friends bought the plane in 1951 it had a Kinner (160hp I think) that was due to have the main crank pin and bearings reworked. Instead they were able to find a mothballed Kinner engine, carb and mags (Navy surplus) in a farmers barn in Coldwater, MI for $150 and replaced the old engine.
Roger, I'd like to see the old bird some day if possible. Let me know if you're open to it. My email: ddaugherty@comcast.net

I've posted a few pictures of the OTW from the early fifties that I found in an old photo album.

My father owned this aircraft back in the late forties/early fifties (I believe he bought it as government surplus after WW2 shortly after he got out of the air force.) I just wanted to inquire with the current owner on the condition the plane. I do have some old black and white photos of it as well if interested.
