I got my private ticket in 2813Z after flying her home with my husband Tim --who was very green the whole time, but didn't lose it, bless his heart-- with an obnoxious CFI that I was tempted to push out the door -- from Pennsylvania to Washington State. We had to hole up in Huron, SD in a huge stone hangar with a King Air while a nasty storm moved through. The winds peeled up a neighboring hangar's roof! In Iowa the night before we had tied it down late in the evening, woke up early, and in preflight discovered a huge birds nest built in the engine compartment overnight! I loved that plane. The farthest west it's flown was to Orcas Island for a fly-in, when we realized that my husband was always going to be green in a GA plane. In 2001 it took Contemporary Champion at the Northwest EAA Fly-In in Arlington, WA, our home field. I see she's in Elgin, IL now. I'm originally from Northern Illinois, too. Fly safe 13Z!
