Cessna 180 amphibious plane with tail number N3237D was owned by WCS Enterprises/Williams Diamond Bits of Lafayette. An accident report shows the plane's engine failed on takeoff, forcing the Cessna down at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 29, 1966, in the Atchafalaya Basin, near Bayou Sorrel, La.
