This aircraft was built as C-47A 42-92227 and delivered to the USAAF on 10/25/43, but then allocated to the RCAF as Dakota Mk.III FL595. On 12/22/43 it was assigned to No. 32 Operational Training Unit at Patricia Bay, Canada. SOC on 12/5/45, going to War Assets Corporation on 5/1/46. On 1/26/47 it became CF-TDM with Trans Canada Airlines. In 1962 the plane was sold as N9124R to Remmert Werner in St. Louis, MO, who was involved in DC-3 modifications. On 7/5/62 the plane was registered N165J with Ozark Air Lines, but the next year it was traded to Fairchild-Hiller for an FH.227. Over the next several years the plane changed hands numerous times until in February 1987 it became N337AF with America Air Freight. At some later date the plane was re-registered as N123DZ. (Information from Arthur Pearcy’s 1988 book, “Douglas DC-3 Survivors).
