| According to the book Mayday! Mayday! "Aircraft Crashes in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park" by Jeff Wadley and Dwight McCarter this aircraft crashed December 9, 1956. According to the book the plane was destroyed, but the pilot survived and was rescued. I have looked for the accident report on this online, but NTSB and FAA searches only go back to 1962. | |
