Dear Sirs: As a boy I had the privilege to play around this aircraft. It was owned by Stencel AeroEngineering Corp of Asheville, NC. This was 1961. Aircraft at that time was painted silver and red of the RCAF. Mr. Stencel bought the aircraft to use for testing low altitute opening parachutes for use with ejection seats for the Navy. As of 1961 the aircraft had two seats and I was told Gen. Dwight D Eisenhour flew as passenger, in the second seat, to overlook the progress of the Normandy Invasion. Hope this bit of history is beneficial. Sincerely, Barry C Jolly |
