| This aircraft and its logs were inspected prior to being sold to the present owner with the intention of exporting it to Canada. The log revealed that the person who owned the aircraft in the 90's did very little flying but a lot of maintenance such as painting the entire plane and refitting the landing gear and brakes to 6" wheels. Trouble is that this owner was not qualified to do this work and there were no signatures of an IA. A Cessna maintenance supervisor did not think it would be prudent to purchase an aircraft with such logs. The FAA was contacted in this regard at the time, but no response was received. The plane has now a new owner in Texas and it would be interesting to know what actually had to be done to obtain a valid C of A. This aircraft was in fine shape and well maintained, it is just that the illegal work performed rendered the C of A invalid. |

| For one thing how about a fresh paint job under the instruction of an IA and a 337 for landing gear and 6.00 wheels |
