In 1959 to a least 1961, this plane was owned by the "Throttle Jocky Flying Club" at Washington State College, Pullman Washington. Was the club treasure at that time, while attending the school. After 9 hours of dual instruction, the instructor climbed out of the back seat while idling at the end of the runway and said I was ready to solo. I did several take offs and landings over one of most exciting 15 minutes of my life! No flaps, no radio, terrible to taxi with a strong tail wind. When the gas gauge stops sloshing around you had better be on final approach. (Empty!) I loved that little plane. |
