987118 I also took my first flight in this aircraft. June Barta and I were neighbors in 1960 and had a mutual interest in flying. The owner was kind enough to take me for a ride the same summer- buzzing the neighborhood - it was a thrill.

I'm not certain when the paint scheme was changed but 87118 was featured in AOPA Pilot magazine in the late 1970's and back then she had a brown-on-beige paint job. The current paint was applied in 2004.

I took my first plane ride in 118 in 1960! At that time her color scheme was red, white and blue and she was owned by Doug Arnold who lived in Silver Springs, Maryland. She summered in Rhode Island and that first flight was from Providence to Block Island. I would be interested to know when her colors changed!

I bought this bird, named Lucky Duck from Mr. Charlie McKeown in Milton, Delaware, in 2004. She was my first and only plane. I got overseas transfer orders (I'm in the Coast Guard) and had to sell her, so I ended up taking a bath and sold her for about $6000 less than what she's worth to a Yankee scheister living in South Florida. I regret every second of my dealings with him and miss this plane terribly. What a gem somebody has in this plane. I hope they know how great she is and takes good care of her.
