| This aircraft was built as C-47A 42-24339 and delivered to the USAAF on 9/8/43, but then a week later was diverted to the RCAF as Dakota Mk.III 662. Record during WWII is not known. In 1952 it was based in Trenton, Ontario using the call sign “VCHUW.” Between June 1958 and May 1967 it served with the RCAF in Europe. Became surplus in April 1969 and went to Scottish Aviation Ltd at Prestwick Airport for sale. On 30 Jul 1969 it was delivered to the Muscat & Oman Air Force as “502,” serving with them until 9/18/70. On 9/16/72 the plane went to Norway as LN-TVA with Bergen Air Transport, and in August 1975 it went to Norwegian Overseas Airways AS of Fornebu. On 10/22/75 the plane returned to Canada, and in 1978 it was stored at St. Andrews, New Brunswick. On 12/22/80 the aircraft was registered C-GSTA with Ontario Central Airlines, this being cancelled in September 1981. Later that same year the plane was registered in Columbia as HK-2666 with Lineas Aereas Eldorado until 1987 when this line closed and the plane was taken over by Servicio Aerea del Caqueta.
