Sadly this aircraft was destroyed when it clipped trees on takeoff from a country airstrip in Victoria, crashed and caught fire, starting a small grass fire. Tragically, the pilot, who had flown the aircraft from England to Australia a few years ago, and his passenger, perished in the accident.

My apologies Peter but I have now located the Aviation Safety Network report giving the date as January 27th and the location as near Maryborough Airport - YMBU, VIC.
