Site access problem

Hi All,

I am wondering how many of you see error message "unable to connect to server" regularly (once a day or once every few days) these days? I found the server is quite busy from time to time, it might be the time to add a new server.

Experienced this ten minutes ago, but this was the first time this week. However, the site has been noticeably slower these past few days and I wonder if this may be related to the problem.

Will be interesting to see what other comments your posting produces.

Several times during admin duties, I noticed the computer was slow and several times I had access problems and thought it was my machine because of past problems. Last night I received several could not connect to sever notifications and there were 96 visitors on the site

I just corrected some profiles and most of them went right through, approximately 5 of them took a little longer as if the computer slowed down, but they went through.

I also have experienced this condition during Admin work and have repeatedly switched to other interests during such situations. Re-booting has not resolved the situation and I have assumed that it is due to high traffic situations.

I have to say that I find it to be quite irritating!

Has happened over the past week.

I have also been experiencing the same problems while doing my admin bit, quite frustrating when you have completed the first part of a profile the you get the message "unable to connect to server"

Yesterday while uploading photos, the site was noticeably slower and I received the "could not connect to server" message twice. Redo of part of the upload and resubmit worked on next try each time. I also suspected server overload, and recall when you, Ken, upgraded the server some time ago.

Once again Ken, today while uploading pictures, the upload was taking a long time and then I got a server error. I logged out, waited about 5 minutes, came back in and everything worked great, until my second upload. I had four pictures left when it began to slow down and then gave me an error. Signed out again and came back and everything was okay.

Twice while doing Admin duties, the computer slowed down, but no error messages.

I was uploading photos and editting others and the computer slowed down and then, this message appeared.

After signing off and back on, I noticed the photos I edted disappeared

So it does look like a performance issue. I'll see what I can do.

I made some tweak on database server, hopefully this can buy me some time to investigate further, or get a new server.

Have both created profiles and uploaded photographs today without any delays being experienced. The site runs smoother at present. Thanks for your endeavours.

Well seems the overload issue still exists. Need to keep digging.

Hi Ken,

I had the "Unable to connect to server" problem last night, about 10:00 pm Melbourne time, or 8:00 am US EST. I was just trying to open the Home page, but about 4 attempts failed.

I gave it a miss and got on today without difficulty.
