I started making folders for aircraft in various museums when I decided I should have a primary folder labeled "museums" and have all the museums as sub-folders. There is a place to move folders, but this doesn't work. I'd hate to start all over again but I'd really like to have what I already completed turned into sub-folders under a main museum folder. Any suggestions?

Glenn.

Create your new folder "Museums" at the top level of your Photo Gallery.
Then with each of your current museum folders, click on the "Move folder to another location" icon, and then click on the arrow in the "Move into" field. A list will appear; and right at the bottom you will find the "Museums" folder. Click on it and the individual museum folder will move into "Museums".

I've done all that but nothing happens - no folder moves.

Well I missed out one obvious move.
Having selected "Museums", you then need to click on the 'move' button.
It should work - I've just dummied the procedure successfully.

There is a description in "News Archive" when Ken added the button to allow the movement of folders but I'm not up to showing you further descriptive screen prints.
Would anyone wish describe the procedure with a few visuals?

I have done the whole thing over and over. Selected the folder to move it to and the hit "move" and the folders don't move. So the thing doesn't work for me at all. I just tried it again and nothing happened.

Here's my interpretation of the process.

See if this helps...it worked for me just now, with some dummy folders.

(I think this is all of the steps... "I think"

Click on the Customize Photo Gallery link

Create your new folder

Make new sub folder

Click icon to move folder

Select where you want sub to go in pop-up window drop box

New sub folder ready.

Check your Gallery to see if it's there...

Bingo!

Thanks, so much better than words.

Must get a lesson in screen printing sometime!

I have tried this a gazillion times and nothing happens. All the stuff comes up, I push all the right buttons and after I select "move" that little screen disappears and everything is as it was - no change!

Glenn,

I wonder if you are having a problem with the site like I had a few weeks ago?

Have you tired this on another machine? I was having a problem on one machine and not another so I updated my plug-ins and all worked as advertised.

Have you tried updating your Adobe Flash and Java software? A flash update fixed my problem....

Java and adobe upgrades are always to the latest, so that wasn't the problem.

Well, I tried using my laptop PC and, whadayaknow, it worked! So the problem was my iMac the whole time!

Go figure!

Thanks for the suggestion of trying another computer!

I am not very sure but I guess it could be the "move folder" function does not work well in Safari. I don't own an Apple computer so I never test the site in Safari. And to be honest, it would be too time consuming to test the site in every browser and version (i.e., IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox 3,4,5, Safari, Chrome, ...., the list goes on).

Well, as long as I have one of each (my desktop died almost 2 years ago and I decided to try iMac - it's been "a blessing and a curse") I am good to go, now that I know the problem! That is the only function I haven't been able to use on this machine, so that is weird.
