Photos of aircraft wrecks

I have several photos of specific aircraft wrecked by weather,crashes etc.Is it in bad taste to post them?

I have numerous shots of aircraft wrecks, only two of which were fatal. One I identify the aircraft (N121H) because he was a friend and I was the one who did the accident investigation for the FAA portion. There are other photos of the aircraft already posted when it was active (I have many more shots of the aircraft remains close-up that I elected to not post - THOSE would be poor taste). The other one I did not identify the aircraft and the probability of anyone who knows the plane seeing that photo is about one in a billion, but a similar photo was published in the newspaper at the time. The rest of the crashes I thought had some interesting aspects as to the causes or the unusual ending of the plane. I also have a collection in my "Crashes" subfolder showing storm damage.

You're both right,that's why I asked the question in the first place.Although some of these wrecks are from the 60s and 70s,someone might have bad memories.I will not post any wrecks.Thanks

Well, looking over the thoughts posted, I removed the one fatal crash shot, but I left N212H on. Sentimental reasons. All my other crash shots, as pointed out, have - I think - some interest. I have a couple with gear failures with excellent landings, one on a telephone pole with no injuries (this one is incredible. Student flying at night with passenger, ran out of gas, stalled and came straight down and hit the telephone pole, which came in the windshield and out the pilot window and missed the occupants, but stopped the fall and they walked away), one who slid off a roof landing and walked away; stuff like that. The Falcon that went off the end was a spectacular recovery and maneuver to avoid going into the street. And storm damage is just something to shake one's head at!

Hi Glenn,

Student flying with a passenger? That's a violation of the FARs. Sounds like that student really compounded his/her errors.

I always wondered if he ever did continue to get his license - if the FAA would punish him by not allowing it or if he was just scared silly! That pole was about three miles from DPA airport - "so close and yet so far away" It was amazing to me that the only injury was the passenger breaking his ankle jumping down from the pole. Cessna 152's aren't that big to be having a telephone pole coming through your windshield!

I have posted several wreck photos, none of which are a fatality aircraft...but ...I have posted photos of a couple of aircraft which were the survivors of fatal mid-air collisions.
I have also posted photos of aircraft that are no longer with us...some of which were involved in fatal accidents later on. and I have one photo of an airplane that was involved in a fatal accident that is undergoing restoration to fly...

You guys think those are appropriate?

There are several warbirds that have been rebuilt after a fatal accident.
Actually, I can think of several WW2 aircraft that have been restored after something unfortunate happened.
I don't see anything wrong with displaying pictures of any aircraft.

The only thing that would bother me is to see an aircraft wrapped around a tree (with the tail here... and the wing there...)
where the people didn't walk out. But if the same aircraft has been rebuilt, I don't think there would be too much of a problem with posting it.

So I will amend my earlier statement.
I do not wish to see a photo of a fatal accident in progress, or right after the event. I would love to see it after it is restored... or in the process of being restored.

As to others... Each has his own view.
