The Piper Apache N1341A was owned by my father up until the time he began to work for RAM Air and no longer had time to fly privately. If memory serves me right the plane failed inspection shortly before we parked it. I do know the right aileron has some damage from where the plane took off with the tail anchor still tied and that the cargo hatch latch never quite worked right. Far as anything else goes I've not seen the plane up close in at least ten years. My father gave the aircraft to Raleigh East airport years ago but judging from the records they've not carried the transfer over. All paper work has been signed to grant them ownership of the aircraft.

Drove out to the airport out of curiosity and checked on the old plane. She has been moved to the street side by the airport on old highway 64 and they are using her as a sort of sign. doesn't look like anyone has really been in her since we parked it about 10-12 years ago. I mentioned it to the people at the airport and they seem to know how to get in touch with the airport owner whom we told could keep the plane. In retrospect it's a shame we had to abandon it in such a state, I have many fond memories sitting as a young boy with my father at the controls when he still worked as a flight instructor at Raleigh East airport.
