Why Airplane are Easier to Live With Than Women.

Airplanes usually kill you quickly; a woman takes her time.

Airplanes can be turned on by a flick of a switch.

Airplanes don't get mad if you do a "touch and go".

Airplanes don't object to a pre-flight inspection.

Airplanes come with a manual to explain their operation.

Airplanes have strict weight and balance limitations.

Airplanes can be flown any time of the month.

Airplanes don't come with in-laws.

Airplanes don't care about how many other airplanes you've flown before.

Airplanes and pilots arrive at the same time.

Airplanes don't mind if you look at (or photograph) other airplanes.

Airplanes don't mind if you buy airplane magazines.

Airplanes expect to be tied down.

Airplanes don't whine unless something is really wrong.

However, when airplanes go quiet, just like women, it's usually not good.

Hey, don't blame or credit me for this, I am a happily married man.

Isn't this just a wee bit off-color for a family-oriented site?

Having absolutely no time whatsoever for political correctness I find Doug's contribution quite entertaining and no way could it be considered upsetting to anyone whatever age. If one can't see it as a bit of harmless fun then one has a problem. Unfortunately there are are too many people these days who seem concerned about whether some humour may offend certain elements of the population. Who cares? If something is funny it's funny. If there are people offended by it, tough, they should get a life and grow up. I go along with the British Humanist Association that states that everyone has the right to offend. It's the person who is offended who has the problem.

Moxy,

Perhaps I believe there should still be such a thing as proper decorum. It isn't about what is or is not offensive, it's about courtesy. Some of these comparisons are just a wee bit off-color, which really isn't appropriate for younger people.

I have just as much humor as anyone else, but my point was that there are places where it is inappropriate to have off-color humor.

As far as one being offended being the one with the problem, that is an over-generalization, because I can guarantee you that if I treated you as a piece of trash, it wouldn't be you with the problem even though you would be offended.

It isn't about political-correctness either, since there is nothing about this humor string which involves politics. I was referring to the sexual suggestions. There are plenty of young people who used this site and it is those who I prefer to protect from this sort of crudity. A major problem with our society today is people who think children should know everything there is to know about s e x.

I guess the days of proper courtesy, decorum, civility, chivalry and gentlemanliness are over in your belief system. I prefer to keep these values alive for the betterment of society.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen.

We should bear in mind that this is an AVIATION website and matters relating to morals, politics, religion. etc, are best debated elsewhere. Accordingly, humour in particular should also be limited to aviation matters.

In the interests of fairness, this thread will remain, but closed to further comment.

Admin.
