Excellent post Doug! I'll be using this a reference point for sure - I want to attend more Air Shows this year and Cali is probably the closest for me. Thank you very much!

Thanks, Brad. Somehow I forgot the month of September. I have now edited original post to add that. The start date of the Chico Airfest with the Canadian Snowbirds has a ? mark. Have seen two different start dates. Hence the question marks. A Friday-Saturday airshow doesn't make much sense. If anyone has the 2008 Snowbirds schedule, I would appreciate confirmation on Chico's show date/dates.

I have added and tested some more airshow websites as they become available. Some, such as Camarillo are incomplete for 2008, but Chino's 2008 airshow info just came on line. Will update any listed thus far as info and my time permits.

Twelve more websites have been added and another four checked still with no joy. Will continue to update as info becomes available. The Los Angeles American Heroes Show will feature helicopters, strictly. More info is on that now-added website.

Please NOTE: Military installations such as March ARB and MCAS Miramar will NOT have public air shows if security levels increase in a base to Threat Condition "Bravo" or above. Demonstration schedules are subject to change or cancellation without notice. As always, call/confirm before spending time or money.

Please note the May 16-18 addition for Howard lovers to be held at Santa Paula. This is an annual Howard Club Foundation Fly-In hosted by different owners annually. Early birds will arrive on 15 May. Three excellent airworthy examples reside at SZP, with a fourth Experimental under construction.

The second Annual Pietenpol Air Camper, etc, Fly-In Gathering will be held 26-27 April 2008 at Flabob Airport RIR , Roubidoux/Riverside, California. Hosted by EAA Chapter ONE, the event will be daily from 9 am to 4 pm. I am adding this also to the 2008 California Airshows list, which keeps growing.

The late Bernard Pietenpol of Southern Minnesota is considered the "Father of Homebuilt Aircraft" with his first design in 1928. He was one of the first to offer kits and complete aircraft of his designs.

For 21 June 2008 I have just added the Annual Air Show and Open House at Pine Mountain Lake Airport E45 3 miles NE of Groveland. This airport has a 3,625 X 50 foot runway 1.1% upgrade on Rwy 09 equipped with VASI and PAPIs at field elevation of 2,930 feet, so consider density altitude if a hot day. The field boasts an interesting collection of vintage aircraft, including two Luscombe Phantoms, one of which is the World's only airworthy one, helicopters and experimental aircraft in addition to the usual Wichita tin.
