Just curious, does anyone else take their scanner with them while photographing aircraft? My RS Pro-93 is always on my belt & connected to my headphones!

I have and occasionally use a elderly pre-ECPA PRO-51 with VHF aviation band and a JD-100 with the VHF aviation band, both handhelds. At home I have a fixed BC 855 XLT to monitor OXR and CMA. Also NTD for area RADAR clearance control. I even monitor coastal OXR's ATIS on my boat for air temp and dew point-FOG warning with a fixed receiver. As 41 year AOPA member use their annual Airport Directory extensively. Also am long time subscriber and contributor to Monitoring Times. NASWA member/contributor also. I have looked at your ScanAtlanta website.

I always have my Sporty's 200 with me and it is usually on. I listen to New York Center and if I hear a plane coming and I can get to a spot to photograph it I'm there. See my post at photography harrassment at airports I have a story I will post.

I always carry my IC-A3 with me....since I am taking pictures never know when I need the transciever side.

There are a number of folks I know at the field, and if I catch them before they leave ground frequency, they will normally give me a good slow taxi by so I can get a good picture of the plane.....or I catch a couple of friends on unicom in their warbirds who like to do a low level pass, I can get them to not just do a mid field turn out, but have them run the length of the runway to get the right angle.
