Early Friday morning, the SR22 carrying pilot Skipper Beck crashed at the Rock Hill airport, killing him. The airport was completely closed down. It appeared he tried to come back around after taking off.

I flew over Rock Hill the other morning and was able to get this picture of the crash. I forget who said it, but we know that aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous, but it is terribly unforgiving.
