Tomorrow is the start of Aviation Nation at Nellis AFB. I'll be there and hopefully Dean will to along with some other Aviation Photogs. Hopefully, we'll have some good photos to post.Today, while shooting at North Las Vegas Terminal, I could see them practicing in the far distance.

Today's show is over - or at least I'm home now. Turns out it was dark and dreary. I did end up taking about 500 photos anyway and it was fun (cold too!). I met a few people from here and there and saw some GREAT flying! Tomorrow is another day...we'll see what happens then.

P.S. - Some people have WAY TO BIG camera's, holy cow!

Having trouble adding an image, so, I thought I'd post a link instead to my first upload...

Nope - believe it or not, these camera's put Dean's lense to shame! I'll post a pic of them in a little bit.

Aviation Nation is over now. The day was bright and sunny compared to yesterday - a little on the breezy side but not too bad, just a slight chill in the air. The runway runs pretty much north to south so lots of back-lighting going on or barely any at all as the planes fly parallel to the crowd. Oh well - I took about 700 photos in all - a few might be worth something. Time to get editing!

P.S. Next year's Aviation Nation should be huge. The Air Force will celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Hi Michael,

Isn't that crazy! You shoulda seen those guys trying to lug it up to get a shot. They had to lean back just to get them pointed in the sky! I think they were 600mm Prime Focus Lens?

I know professional lenses could get quite expensive, but $10K for a lens?

Yeah! A simple 300 mm IS lens for my Canon will set me back about $2500-3000! You get a 600 mm 2.8 and you are talking SERIOUS money! And we aren't talking that Canadian money, either! Smile

Check out item 290054798350 on eBay. It's already at $3051 with a couple days still to go! Yeah, they are that expensive!
