Another application for some Dynamic XMLHttp lookups would be on the airport code field when uploading a new aircraft photo and on uploading a new airport photo.

After entering 2 valid characters suggested airports codes would be handy.

Comments?

I noticed the dynamic lookup feature has been added to the registration numbers also when uploading a photo. I was uploading this photo http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/110907.html it brought up a list after I entered "N335D". I still needed to enter the "M" in the registration number but a list was displayed to select the correct a/c. I selected the correct a/c (1981 Bell 206B), but it displayed the a/c as a Mitsubishi MU-300. I also tried entering the entire registration but the Mitsubishi MU-300 is still displayed.

The picture I uploaded shows up for both the Bell and the Mitsubishi now http://www.airport-data.com/search/search2.html?field=tail&code=n335dm. When either of the a/c registrations are selected the same picture shows up for both but the information when the picture is displayed is correct on both of them.

I don't know if it is supposed to work this way or if I am just missing something.

Please let me know if I am just ignorant about something.

Thanks,

Mel

Hi Mel,

Welcome to Airport-data and thanks for sharing.

You are right. The site currently doesn't handle multiple aircraft records with same registry well. Basically it treats all aircraft under same registry as one.

I have planned some changes to overcome this problem, but those changes are quite extensive, I am still trying to find enough time to do it.

Thanks Ken. No big deal. Just wasn't sure if you guys were aware of it.
