Could someone point me in the right direction - I am putting some of my older photos on the site and have come across the problem (a couple of times ) of where registration marks have been re-used

For example C-GPCJ which is current on a Saab 340 - but used to be on a Shorts 360 (of which I have a photograph)

If you put the registration into the Photo upload box - you do get BOTH options shown , BUT it only allows you to select the CURRENT registration

Although there is an obvious link to the older aircraft in the Database -how do you link a photo to it?

Also although it is in the Database - when you enquire of the Registration marks C-GPCJ , it does not bring it up as a de-registered aircraft

Hi,

The site has a limit, it only support one record per registry number. It IS a design defect, but it's too late and will be very difficult to fix that.

For now, just upload your photos under the same registry number, and put a short comment in description about it's been de-registered.

In the future... could you add keywords? Tags?

Defect may be a harsh word. Is it a "defect"?
Data that is pulled is current information. There may be history... but there is only 1 current code for an aircraft.

One option is to put in the photo description any older codes.
Then they will pull on a search.

Much like this.

I put the code in the description.
This photo is of N5788J...http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/129032.html
but I also wanted to be able to search and find N5327J.
http://www.airport-data.com/search/search3.html?code=n5327j+&search=Search
by including the code in the description... there is no problem. The same could be done with former Ncodes listed in the description.

One thing you might consider is the addition of key words. Then you could tag the photos with additional search information.
