The OV-10 association and the Vintage Flying Museum hosted the 5th annual Cowtown Warbird Roundup Fly-in at Ft. Worth Meacham Field (KFTW) on Saturday May 31, 2008.

It was a great day at the airport.

First of all I was fortunate enough to meet a fellow Airport-Data photographer - Timothy Aanerud! Great guy!

Friday was arrival day...A lot of good stuff throughout the afternoon.

And Saturday was the open house.
What a day!

My buddy Dean was busy giving tours of the B-17 "Chuckie"

And the best part of the day...was the Collings Foundations new noise maker...Timothy talked me into something that I wanted to do anyway... Wink
Super fun!

And the best part of that was the flyby! Dang that was fun!

When I travel for work I try to find something aeronautically interesting. While looking at Fly-In/Air Show schedules I noticed the Cowtown Roundup in Fort Worth, TX. Work was sending me to Dallas during the end of May.

Since Zane posts photos from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I thought I would try to setup a rendezvous. A few email's later and things were set. I leaft work early on Friday, but we didn't find each other that day. Zane knows his local airports and was hidding on the northwest corner of FTW taking all of those great in the air arrival photos. I was in the museum area instead. Zane's friend Dean gave me the tour of Chuckie the B-17. He really knows his airplane for a non-pilot.

Saturday morning we found each other via cell phones while standing 20 feet apart. For the record it was Zane who pulled out the credit card first. He was severely influenced by the available front seat for the first ride of the day. I happily took the backseat behind him with the sliding door completely open. Smile

Everybody was looking at us..

The flight instructor in the hovering R-22 was waving at the hovering UH-1.

Just before landing the tinted window caught my eye.
