I just took a peek at Dean's pictures.
Wow! I didn't see any others that looked like they have been modified.
Hard to say if this one was.

As a matter of fact, this guy takes some great shots!
Best Regards,

I don't think Dean has doctored his photos...

Must be something about that dry Las Vegas air...

Well,
You know the saying... what happens in Vegas .... stays in Vegas. Maybe they are just trying to keep any water vapor they can. Very Happy

Perfectly acceptable!

Well done.

Just try not to use it as a crutch. Attempt to take the best shot possible at the time and things will always come out better.

I use Photoshop CS3 to make corrections to level the photos, crop them, adjust exposure, sharpen photos, and remove sensor dust spots if necessary. I never manipulate a photo to add anything artificial or remove poles, etc.

I take it as an unsubtantiated and uninformed insult from anyone who thinks that I have manipulated any of the photos I have shared here on Airport-Data.com.

I have good equipment, pretty decent photography skills, and an adequate grasp of post-processing of my RAW images in Photoshop.

I see nothing wrong with editing or "Photoshopping" to clean up an image and make it presentable. All photographers should strive to make their shots count...but sometimes the environment and obstacles don't cooperate.

Take this example.

I wanted a shot of this Fed-ex 727. Late in the day, facing the sun, peeking over a fence, etc.

So I climbed one obstacle to shoot over another and didn't worry about the sun...very much.

Colors were off, light is bad and shadows were mean...but it's not going in a magazine. It's simply data.
I left the fence loop over the container to remind me of the original.

The original.

As posted.

Hi All,

A very useful tool with many of the functions of Photoshop is a free download - Xnview, which works in Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP and Vista. There are also versions for MacOS and Linux. Go to http://www.xnview.com.

I've used it to rotate, crop, resize, adjust brightness/contrast/gamma correction, clone my photos, and I haven't learned how to use half of its features yet. I try to take the best photos I can in the camera, but I use a couple of point-and-shoot cameras (Olympus C-310 and Samsung S800), and airport security since 9/11 has made it difficult to get good shots. You need to be able to tweek them a bit.

Regards,

Peter (red750)
