What do we do if there is a non existent number and the auto fill in will not allow a new one to be entered?

Like N9665, or N9663 former American Airlines 747's

I have photos of both aircraft.

One I was able to enter with a dash behind the number N9663- but it does not come up in the registration search.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Zane

You enter the number in the search box, and a page will come up for you to enter a profile for that N-number. Works great with stuff no longer on the registry.

When I enter these, N9665 and N9663 the "Add new aircraft data" screen doesn't come up...I just get a long list on numbers ...one of which is not these...

This also is happening with FAA aircraft such as N62, N61, N8 etc. If I go ahead and enter it in my Aircraft Photos it shows to be another type of aircraft with the closest matching registration number...ie. N62 is in the system under N620...a Bell 206B ... but if I look at N620 there is no photograph.

I don't know how to get around this.

Thanks

You don't have to pick one from the drop-down list while you are uploading photos. Just continue typing then use mouse or TAB key to move to next field.

OK Thanks...I entered N9663 in the system.

Now I can't find it except under my pictures.

But it's in.

Thanks

You can find it using "Search Aircraft Photo" box at top-right corner on home page.

I added it for you. Now you can search N9663 and you can select it.

When you search a non-exist registry, you will be redirect to "add aircraft" page. You can enter necessary information there to create a new entry.

Sorry to be such a pain but this doesn't seem to be working well for me in some instances.

Example N9665

Type in the front page search by tail number box and hit the search button.

Next page is a long list of aircraft starting with N96650
then N96651 the 2 and so on... there is no way to add a new number on this screen.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks Zane

You are right. If there's similar registry number, you won't get "Add aircraft" page.

Try this:

http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/?????.html

where ????? is the aircraft registry you want to add. For example, if you want to add N9665, the URL should look like:

http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/N9665.html

This will bring you direct to add aircraft page, if the registry does not exist.
