Since I discovered that you can move folders from one section to another a couple weeks back I have been working to re-arrange and clean up my picture sections.

I used to have my military section arranged by era ie WWII, Coldwar, Modern etc and then had subfolders for fighters, bombers etc then sub sub folders for F-15, F-16 etc.

In my new arrangedment I am trying to do a similar set up to what Glen Chatfield has putting all his bombers together from WWII to modern etc.

When I created a bomber folder, fighter folder, attack etc folder I moved the planes from the different eras into those folders. Of course when I moved the folders the aircraft were all out of order numerically. I tried using the arrow keys to move them around but they won't move no matter what I do - so now I have all my planes out of order under attack, bombers, transports etc. For example I have my B-17 coming before my B-1 or something along those lines.

Is there anyway to fix this? Seems like there is a bug that is not allowing the arrow key to move all the folders, only moves some of the folders.

Update.

Another trusted person I know who uses this site logged in under my screen name and tried to move my folders around and got the same problem where he couldn't move the folders.

At first I thought it was a computer problem on my computer but now it looks like it isn't but it might be a bug on the site.

It looks like your browser is blocking popup window.

When you click on the "arrow on folder" button, a small window should popup let you choose the destination folder. If you don't see that small window, most likely it's blocked.

Depending on which browser you are using, and which toolbar you have installed, there're different way to enable popup window. For example, IE 7 has pop-up blocker built in.

In all cases, you should be able to disable pop-up blocker just for airport-data.com.

P.S. Just did a quick test, the function works fine, well, at least for me.

I am having no problems with the new function and the pop up window comes up fine. The problem I am having is moving the subfolders around in numerical order in their folder.

For example - look in the Military section I have, then go under the bomber subfolder. All my bomber subfolders are out of numerical order - B-24, the B-1, B-2, then B-29 or something. I can't move the folders around there so that I have B-1, followed by B-2, followed by B-10, B-17 etc.

Someone else tried for me on their computer to move my subfolders around also and had the same problem when he pushed the arrow up key, the arrow up 5 spaces key and the arrow that goes to the top key.

I am having no problem at all with the NEW function of moving the folder from one place to the other, its the arranging the subfolders in order where I am having the problem. I didn't have this problem until this new function came in place though.

Thanks for your help

I have fixed the cause. Now when you move a folder into a new location, the folder will be put at the bottom inside target location. It will then eliminate the move up and down issue.

But that will not cure problem already caused by the bug. To fix this, I added a new function on "Customize Photo Gallery" page. Near the bottom of page, you will find a link like this:

Quote:
If you have difficulty moving folders on current page up or down, click here to fix the problem, then redo moving.

Click on it will fix ordering issues for all folders currently listed on the page. Existing orders will be kept untouched. Then you can reorder them as you like.

Thanks for bringing out the bug.

Ken
