Red Bull Air Race 2008

The schedule for the Red Bull Air Race 2008 season has been announced. I'm thinking about attending the Detroit race being held 31-May-2008 & 1-June-2008. Their website says details will be announced 1-April-2008.

What's it like attending one of these events? Is there a pit area at a local airport where you can see the aircraft up close and meet the pilots/crew etc?

After looking at a Detroit Sectional chart and Google Earth I'm at a loss to guess which airport might be used or where the actual race course might be set up. Along the river between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, Canada maybe? The Ambassador Bridge would make a nice start/finish line. They like to promote these races being at exotic locations and attended live by hundred's of thousands people. Somehow the Motor City doesn't quite fit.
