Can anyone out there provide me with information on this aircraft? Is it for sale? If not, what would it take to be for sale? This plane belonged to my late father. I have been searching for it for years and actually cried when I found it online. Please help me!! I could spend hours sharing and justifying why I long to have this plane back in my family.

I took recent photos (July 2008) of N5957U at SZP in Southern California. The FAA lists this aircraft as Sale Reported and Registration in Question. I seem to recall that was the status when I took the photos. (Transfer of title may be an issue). Go to www.faa.gov and follow the N number trail-it will lead to an FAA phone number to call re: the aircraft's current status. I just checked the FAA website before replying here to get the FAA's latest posted information on N5957U.

If you really want to buy this apparently recently sold aircraft, be sure to use an Aircraft Title Search service to be certain the seller you find is really capable of transferring title and selling this aircraft legally.

And, I suggest you don't let your heart rule your head, and pocketbook. Hire an A&P competent in the aircraft model to do a pre-purchase inspection, if it gets to that. The A&P should also check for full AD compliances and proper aircraft logs.

Thank you for your information Mr. Robertson. I had planned on contacted the phone number listed on Monday. In addition, I can appreciate your suggestion of a pre-purchase inspection if it comes too that. I do intend to keep my head one step ahead of my heart in this endeavor. Thanks!
