Deregistered Aircraft on this Site

Why do unregistered/de-registered aircraft in the singular or the plural show up FIRST when entering a valid, in-registry registration of an aircraft on this site? Shouldn't a valid registered aircraft prevail at the top as first correct choice when uploading a photo of a valid registered aircraft? Recent example is N4096. The 1952 Mooney M-18C MITE is the only valid registry for N4096. Can this be fixed to show the valid aircraft first at top of a list of aircraft, sometimes a longer list than my example here? It makes sense to me to have this change made.

It also makes sense because when uploading an aircraft and entering the correct, registered foil, only a de-registered aircraft foil frequently comes up instead, which gremlin/glitch I have commented on before.
