Merredin, in the Western Australian wheatbelt, about 240 km east of Perth is the base for China Southern Airlines CSWAFC (China Southern West Australia Flying College), one of two China Southern training establishments in WA, the other being at Jandakot. The airport has two sealed runways, 10/28 is 4155 ft long, and 18/36 is 3018 ft long. CSA has a 100 year lease on the airfield. All aircraft are welcome, but prior permission must be sought due to the volume of training traffic. The college uses Grob 115C2 aircraft for ab initio training.
