While assigned to the US Army Electronic Proving Ground, flew 004 at Ft Huachuca, AZ between 1976 and 1979(?). While parked at an airfield in eastern Washington she was hit in the tail by a fire service aircraft. When they retrieved her, they cut her wings off at the fuselage, put her on a flat bed, and hauled her away. I thought for sure she was scrapped after that. Good to see 004 survived! |
