In April of 1975 when this picture was taken, the aircraft owner was Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. "239" was participating in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association's national competition event held at that time in Santa Fe, NM. The WMU team is named the "Sky Broncos". See the WMU website for more info. The picture is of me during a break in the competition. I flew in the "Power On" and "Power Off" Spot Landing events. I was 26 at the time and enrolled in WMU's Mechanical Engineering curriculum. |
