| Originated commercial service with Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. My father used to maintain this ship in the early 1970's when it was new. I remember it very well from about '74 or '75 when it was on the flight line in Lafayette, LA amongst the Hughes 500-C's and Bell 206-B's and 212's. I believe the airframe started as a C model and may have been converted to a CBS in the late 70's or early 80's by the addition of 11" and a set of small windows. I remember seeing these modifications in process at one time but I don't recall any N-numbers. I can only remember from a hangar tour that a helicopter was cut in half and that's how my father explained it to me. Not sure if he participated in it or not, but I do recall that he was occasionally called on to provide technical expertise on the Boelkows later in the 80's and 90's.
Tsstors produced a model BO-105 in Luftwaffe colors and offered a set of decals and a photo for an alternate PHi version with the number N201BB. |
