I was working for Sidney Shannon at the Shannon Air Museum in Fredericksburg, VA in the late '70s and flew the museum's Vultee V-1A, NC 16099, to the Reading Airshow. Preston Snider was the owner of the Bellanca, N237, at the time and was parked next to us. Mr. Shannon asked me to approach Preston to see if he would sell us the Bellanca. I invited Preston to bring it to our Father's Day Fly-In and he did...flown by Dick Schriebmier...perhaps not spelled correctly. We made a "deal" and the Bellanca became part of the Shannon collection. I flew it regularly to fly-ins and it became one of my favourite ships in the collection.
