| Yeah, the owner/builder of this Formula. This is the first FlightStar Formula built outside of the factory. Basic kit was ordered from the Ellington, VT factory in February 1993 with certain factory modifications. Originally designed around the Rotax 447, the kit was delivered with the Rotax 503 DCDI electric start, and three bladed ground adjustable prop which required inclusion of a factory modified FlightStar II wing. Assembly was completed using the old AviaStar documentation as the new FlightStar manuals were not then available. The basic kit was completed in the spring of 1994, and the aircraft was displayed at the Andrews AFB Memorial Day Airshow in conjunction with Fun Flight Inc. The aircraft was transported in conunction with my active duty retirements from the US Navy to Los Gatos, CA in September of 1994 with the intention of completing builder modifications including a basic VFR avionics package and extended range tank. To date, these efforts have been preempted by professional personal priorities. The aircraft is currently in preservation pending the mods. | |
