This aircraft registration number was changed to N402MQ in the early 1980’s by Simmons Airline after they got it back from PSA. MQ was the letters for Simmons Airline. The number 402 was chosen because it was a Cessna 402. I think it was originally part of Simmons fleet during its early years. I believe it was leased to PSA. When Simmons took it back it was used for repositioning crews and mechanics and parts as needed. They operated it separate from the airline so they could keep the scheduled maintenance at a minimum. |
