This Cessna 170, N4036V, goes back a long way in our family history. My uncle, Glenn E. Gash, flew it many times from the Renton, Washington area, down to Colusa, California in the late 1950s, and early 1960s. He gave me my first airplane ride in it in about 1959. Because of him and this airplane, I have had a life long love of flying, and am now a commerically rated pilot myself. Glenn died in 1974. But I still have his log book showing all of the hours he spent at the controls of N4036V. I'd dearly love to sit in that airplane one more time. |
