PURCHASED THIS AIRPLANE ON FEB. 15, 1999 FROM JOE BREVETI IN OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. HAVE ENJOYED FLYING IT OVER THE LAST 7 YEARS. I HAVE FLOWN IT OVER 1000 HOURS IN THAT TIME WITH VERY LITTLE/NO MAJOR MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. ADDED A GARMIN GPS155XL IFR CERTIFIED GPS, A KING KX170B WITH VOR/LOC/G/S, AN ICOM A200 COM RADIO, PRECISE FLIGHT STANDBY VAC. SYSTEM, STANDBY ARTIFICIAL HORIZON, PRECISE FLIGHT PULSE LIGHTING SYSTEM, REPLACED WINDSHIELD, ADDED DUAL FUSELABE STROBE SYSTEM, REFURBISHED INTERIOR, AND PLAN A REPAINT IN THE ORIGINAL 1958 FACTORY SCHEME (BLUE/WHITE) IN THE NEAR FUTURE. ALSO PLAN TO ADD AN S-TECH 30 AUTOFLITE SYSTEM WITH ALTITUDE HOLD AND GPSS STEERING. ALSO PLAN TO REPLACE ALL WINDOWS AND ADD NEW ONE PIECE WINDSHIELD.(POLAR GREY TINTED).
MY FAMILY AND I HAVE USED THIS AIRPLANE FOR PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION TO SUCH PLACES AS OSHKOSH, WI. FOR THE EAA AIRVENTURE, CEDAR KEY, FL. AND LAKELAND,FL FOR SUN 'N FUN, MADISON WI., AND REGULARLY USE IT TO FLY BETWEEN OUR HOME IN SPRINGFIELD, ILL. AND OUR HOME IN SPRINGDALE, ARKANSAS.
WONDERFUL AIRPLANE, PERFORMS WELL, CARRIES A GOOD LOAD, AND IS A DREAM TO FLY!!! I AM RETIRED FROM 39 YEARS OF AIRLINE FLYING, HAVE OWNED MANY LIGHT SINGLE AND TWIN ENGINE AIRCRAFT, AND HAVE CHOSEN THIS COMANCHE TO BE MY "LAST" AIRPLANE, AND IT WILL GO ON IN OUR FAMILY AFTER I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO FLY IT!!

 Update 2007.
N5038P has just emerged from a substantial maintenance/restoration event. In June of 2006, while flying near Springfield, I experienced a catastrophic internal failure in the engine. I was able to safely land the airplane at KSPI, but discovered the engine oil screen completely full of metal caused by internal failure. The airplane was on the ground from June 5, 2006 until February 23, 2007, during which the engine, including all accessories, and the complete exhaust system, propeller and propeller governor were completely overhauled/replaced. Additionally, the original style 2 piece windshield was replaced by a new single piece windshield, and an annual inspection was completed. The airplane has been returned to service in impeccable mechanical condition and has flown 10 hours to date (March 17,2007) with no defect noted. The Midyett family is looking forward now to many hours of trouble free service.
