UH-34D 14-8079 (506): This was a Marine helo in Vietnam prior to going to NAAS Fallon, Nev. in the late 1960'. I believe it has a few bullet holes in it too. Fallon is a Naval Bombing, Target area. Navy + marine A/C came in to do work-up's and practice bombing before going to Vietnam. UH-34D 14-8079 was one of our SAR birds and also was used for spraying mesquitos because of the irrigation of crops in our valley. I have photos of it taken back in May 1968 sitting in front of our hanger (#300) It's painted in Dark Navy Gray with Yellow stripes and it's Beautiful. I've got flying time in this Bird. I've often wondered what happened to it. Sure glad that it's not in the bone yard.
Good to see it.
