New prop, spinner, droop tips and paint job, the "Buzzard" looks pretty good. I spent many of my happiest hours in this bird back in the mid 80's. I owned 1/4 interest in Buzzard Flying Service which is what we called the partnership for business purposes. It was based out of Vandenberg Airport in Tampa at the time. Loved the manual flaps. I took a rather well endowed young lady flying one afternoon and needed that 4th notch of flaps on final, That flap handle put my elbow right where it shouldn't have been. That was a fun landing, the lady taking umbrage over the elbow and the Buzzard taking exception to a crosswind. Never took another woman flying without demonstrating the flap handle before ever starting the engine. Nice to see the old girl is in good hands. Steven Perry Homosassa, FL |
