My father owned this aircraft, I believe during the late 60's and very early 70's before upgrading to the P210 with STOL upgrade. Great plane, can remember trips to Mammoth up the Owens Valley in moderate to heavy turbulence with unsecured items flying around the cabin, stryking birds taking off from Cabo and many interesting flights. Lot's of power. Awsome aircraft. I think he broke a tach cable and put it down with some incident somewhere over Colorado or ? on a road and did a bit of damage at one point. Also had a minor load/balance incident while landing at SFO and lost the front tire. Live and learn. All in all, inspired me to get at least 8 hrs of solo and 16 hrs total time of lessons and my son is a pilot now. |
